About Dubai Charity
A trusted Emirati humanitarian institution serving communities at home and across the world since 1980.
Our Story
Forty-Five Years of Goodness
Dubai Charity Association was founded in 1980 by a group of leading Emirati philanthropists — among them the late Eid Mohammed bin Mediya and Abdullah Al Sha'afar — who believed that the wealth of a city should serve the wellbeing of humanity. Operating from Dubai under the licence and supervision of the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), the Association has grown from a small local committee into one of the UAE's most established humanitarian institutions.
Today, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, and led by CEO Ahmed Al Suwaidi, the Association delivers more than 20 categories of programs to over 3.2 million beneficiaries across 32 countries each year.
